About the Role:
Join our Global Health, Safety, and Environment team as a Chemical Product Safety Technical Officer and be part of our mission to protect people and the environment. In this role, you'll embrace operational excellence by maintaining an efficient and effective program for managing material and product hazard information. Your responsibilities will include minimizing hazard-related risks, preventing future material hazard liabilities, and supporting an end-to-end process encompassing material/product initialization, study management, classification, labelling, SDS generation, and transport classification.

Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will be but are not limited to:
- Manage and conduct daily activities in support of an efficient and effective end-to-end HSE chemical product safety / product stewardship process.
- Administrative maintenance of materials in Novartis HSE database (Enablon Hazcom).
- Support in Safety Data Sheet (SDS) generation and distribution, material / product initialization, HSE data management.
- Support Chemical Product Safety (CPS) Team in GHS/CLP classification and Dangerous Goods checks of materials.
- Specializes in data entry activities from HSE study reports to Novartis HSE system.
- Collaborate, support and provide process / technical expertise to relevant business units, supporting functions and sites with respect to material and product compliance, facilitating business continuity and protecting the reputation of Novartis across the value chain.
Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential for the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, life sciences, or related field.
- Previous experience in similar positions, preferably in data management, data entries or HSE.
- Previous experience in GHS/CLP classification, labelling of materials, SDS creation or other HSE topics.
- Experience in HSE data management (HSE Management Systems; HSE IT Systems, SDS management and related; HSE hazard identification, risk assessment and control; Product registration and product regulatory classifications Supply Chain management).
- Proficiency in Microsoft office.
- Fluent English (oral and written).
Desirable for the role:
- Experience with Enablon Hazcom and/or 3E and/or SAP.
- Learning agility in IT tools and databases.
- Project management experience.
