Sr. Specialist QA Test Automation Engineer (JavaScript)
About the Role
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Drive the standard execution of each test phase (system, integration, functional, regression, acceptance etc.) in your product scope.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts using JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Perform end-to-end automated testing for web, mobile and API platforms. Contribute to the refinement and ongoing improvement of the test management strategy for the products and squads in scope.
- Execution of test governance and associated standards within your product squad. Participate in all Agile ceremonies being accountable for testing assessment, provide estimation support and ensure execution on quality and time (e.g. refinement, retrospective, sprint reviews…). Ensure all test related deliverables are created to quality in line with strategy and approach.
- Support formal review cycles including informal review, formal review, testing sign-off and quality assurance reviews focused on continuous improvement.
- Utilize test environments, test data and test related tooling in accordance with CEP and Novartis standards. Collaborate with other test management experts in the overall test approach and frameworks.
- Collaborate with peers globally in scaling test teams, processes, and standards. Maintain alignment with CEP management in terms of strategy, process, and tooling.
Minimum Requirements
- 8+ years’ experience in a similar role with a shown track record as a QA Test Automation Engineer. 5+ years’ experience working in Agile projects.
- 2+ years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and scripts using JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Track experience in modern project and test management tools (e.g Jira, Xray).
- API testing or Test Automation experience, Adaptability to new technologies, methodologies and project requirements.
- Strong programming skills with JavaScript/TypeScript using test automation tools.
- Critical thinking attitude and attention to detail: QA engineer should be able to spot minor details the systems, as well as the details that contribute to a top application.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Bitbucket)
