About the Role

Key responsibilities:

 

·       Function Development: Build and lead an industry leading non-clinical statistics function to support our different disease areas and functions.

·       Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders across Biomedical Research to integrate statistical insights into research and development processes.

·       Support Disease Area: Provide statistical support and expertise for one of our disease areas.

·       Leadership: Serve as a member of our interdisciplinary analytical leadership team and represent non-clinical statistics on internal boards as needed.

·       Methodological Innovation: Drive the development and application of novel statistical methodologies to enhance data analysis and interpretation.

·       Training and Mentorship: Mentor and develop junior statisticians and data scientists, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

 

Essential requirements:

 

·       Education: Ph.D. or MSc in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related field.

·       Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in non-clinical statistics, with a strong background in translational medicine or biomedical research.

·       Leadership: Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.

·       Technical Skills: Expertise in statistical software and programming languages (e.g., R, SAS, Python).

·       Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

·       Innovation: Demonstrated ability to drive methodological innovation and apply advanced statistical techniques to complex problems.

·       Fluent in English (oral and written).

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $201,600 - $302,400/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
